Highlights from the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Forum 2009

The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Forum 2009 was a resounding success, attracting over 6,300 visitors from around the world. End users, partners, industry analysts and more came together for three days of connecting knowledge, networking and exploring business opportunities.

Becoming a Dynamic Enterprise
The Forum kicked off with a keynote speech by Ben Verwaayen, CEO of Alcatel-Lucent. During the keynote, Alcatel-Lucent celebrated its first annual Dynamic Enterprise Awards. Four organizations based in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia were recognized for their successful embodiment of the Dynamic Enterprise vision. The call for businesses to connect their people, networks, processes and knowledge is truly going global!

This year’s conference program focused on helping companies address their main business imperatives—saving money and making money—in a challenging economic context. Guest speakers included representatives from Yankee Group, McAffee and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In the demonstration area, visitors took a first-hand look at nearly 60 cutting edge technologies. Industry-specific sessions showcased the latest innovations in key sectors such as healthcare, hospitality and education.

Spotlight on ALESUG

The ALESUG stand was the ideal networking platform for members from around the world. There, user group presidents and Alcatel-Lucent representatives engaged in dialogue and attracted the attention of other Forum visitors, several of whom were recruited to local user groups. The stand also hosted training presentations, an ALESUG demonstration tour and a cocktail hour, all exclusively for user group members.
